implying newbies are ignored? i doubt it. it's more likely they don't provide enough information for anyone to help them.

I meant that a lot of these 0 replies are made by users that just signed up.

It's true though that they either post in capitals letter, post ambiguous questions, or don't post enough data.

So I guess it's not just me.

I personally would wish these users that join, and post a question once then leave, would stick around a bit more and contribute.

It can happen that people only have one question that they can't resolve otherwise. Many of our members and guests find their answers through the wiki, te search or the tutorials. It could also be that their question isn't answerable, either because none of our members have seen it or because they don't provide the info to answer it. Because they don't get an answer they get disillusioned and never come back.

Best thing to do is to reply to ask them to clarify their issue.

And I have moved this to WS&F as I think it fits best there.

Looking at the current page, most have more than one post (although indeed for a significant minority it does seem to be post #1). As always I encourage members to go through the 0 Replies search and see if there are any questions you can answer. If anyone has any additional ideas on ways this can be improved, feel free to post in this thread.

I'd rather not split 0 reply threads into multiple groups. A concerted effort on all 0 reply threads seems like a better strategy.

That's true...

I guess individual effort will make the most difference.
