Increase the number of posts displayed per page. Pretty Please.

Hello everybody. The current limit for posts per page is 40, I am hoping it might be increased or removed in "Printer Friendly Versions" .

My first thought was that the limit exists due to bandwidth issues, if I am right then I am probably wasting my time, but hey.

I am thinking that
a) The majority of members/visitors don't use or know about the printer friendly feature.
and b) Printer Friendly Mode does not eat as much bandwidth as regular mode.

So ... there shouldn't be a huge slowdown at LQ. But I might be wrong about that.

I would imagine this is to prevent those setting their number of posts to a substantial amount to preserve bandwidth and resources. We have some threads in the hundreds or thousands even, I couldn't imagine someone wanting to load more than 50 or 100.

I think trickykid is right, if I remember correctly at one point the limit was much higher but it did start causing problems.

To be honest I'm not sure I've seen many threads that span that number of posts that would be worth printing off, certainly not any that couldn't be printed off by visiting 2 pages.

Can you point out a thread where you see the limit as a problem?

Actually it was this thread that inspired my plea, I printed it off for a friend who had just switched, it contains lots of good tidbits for a *buntu --> debian move.

Admittedly it is not one of the biggest threads, but it would have been nice to have the limit at say 80-100 posts.
