In addition to LAst Post By: on the board listing...

How about what topic they posted in? I'm trying to get some info in DrOzz's kernel compiling topic, and whenever I see a new post announcement on the listing, I go to only find that it wasn't in the compiling topic. Basically..

Don't ask about the topic name...:jawa:

What do you mean man? Can you be any more clearer?

XavierP 01-27-2004 11:59 AM

Have you tried doing a Search by user name?

Echs Bochs 01-27-2004 12:24 PM

That takes longer.... the idea is to make it user-friendlier

XavierP 01-27-2004 12:29 PM

Can you make your question more user friendly?

Have you been to their profile page, then clicked on Look at all threads or look at all posts?

Echs Bochs 01-27-2004 12:35 PM

None of you read my first post then I guess..

Alright, the current board listing (I'm putting it vertically):

i think the point is that no one has a clue what you are talking about..... you're trying to find a specific thread solely by look at looking at who posted last in a particular forum?? how is that remotely useful? sounds to me like you don't really nkow how to use this site, for example have you found the "view new posts" link?

acid_kewpie 01-27-2004 12:39 PM

i think people read your post fine, you just didn't explain it at all well... and going by your last post makes me think i'm actually right as above.... how is this meant to be useful?

Echs Bochs 01-27-2004 12:43 PM

It lets you know whether you should spend your time going to a page to see that the last post wasn't in your topic asking about something, but in some other topic...

acid_kewpie 01-27-2004 12:55 PM

but there were 6 posts in linux - general in the last 10 minutes... why should the very very last one have any real siginificance? really mate.. just use this:

Echs Bochs,

I don't think there is enough room in the current layout to accomodate this correctly. Thanks for the suggestion.
