I wish LQ Newbie could be changed to Members

Hi,

I know you need 30 posts to become Member but when I see LQ Newbie, I really see Linux Newbie. I wish new members could be called Member instead.

It's not something I thought about when I was one, but the thread spurred a thought:

How about "LQ Rookie"?

rokytnji 06-17-2013 09:46 PM

Should i be feelin' bad (no)
Should i be feelin' good (no)
It's kinda sad i'm the laughing stock of the neighborhood
Hey you would think that i'd be movin' on (movin')
But i'm a sucker like i said
I did it all for the Rookie (come on) the Rookie (come on)
So you can take that Newbie and stick it up your (yeah)
Stick it up your (yeah) stick it up your (yeah)
Stick it up your

Why did it take so long
Why did i wait so long huh
To figure it out but i didn't
And i'm the only one underneath the sun who didn't get it

:D

C'mon people I was just making a suggestion hence the thread name LQ Suggestions and not asking Jeremy to make this mandatory.

I admit I don't like the LQ Newbie name but I can live with it for the next 15 posts to go :)

But the term "newbie fits into the whole geek culture thing. Plus, if you're active on the forums you can knock out 30 posts in a matter of days.

Apropos adaptation of the lyrics of "Nookie" by Limp Bizkit. Attribution of another's work is respectful.

Thanks for the feedback. The usertitle used to be "Newbie", but was updated to "LQ Newbie" based on feedback. We have no plans to change it at this time.

I kind of use that to decide how to tailor my answers. If I see a newbie I might use a more detailed reply. I think the good and bad have to be considered.

You would be known by your posts or questions in a short time anyway. If a sharp person posted some detailed answer or question, we'd notice it. Don't let some name mask your talents.
