i have a suggestion for the LQ website - live chat

i think it would be a good idea if you had a live chat (IRC) on your website to help those who need urgent help

take a look at

http://www.computerhope.com/forum and click on chat

something like that would be nice and it would bring lots more trafic to the LQ website

have fun

this has been suggested many times, there are reasons why there isn't a live chat, the main one being it's difficult to log live chats in any useful way, which is counter productive to the purpose of this site.

unfortunately, i was one of those who previously suggested it, personally I'd like to see it here too, but I understand why it isn't.

yah live chats are good especially when one needs urgent help i think its high time to invest in the webex systems .

Personally, I hope live chat never happens here. One of the most useful features of LQ (at least to me) is that it leaves a record of the discussion. I rarely have to ask questions here since the vast majority of my confusion can be cleared up by searching. The saved live chat sessions I've stumbled across are never as detailed or easy to follow. I'm sorry, but if you need help so badly you need real-time answers, maybe you should be buying support.
