How To Close Thread

How do I close a thread? I did read the posts in this, but they didn't make much sense to me and I'm still confused. This one of the most basic tasks and it's driving me mad not knowing how to it, but I need to ASAP. There are plenty of other questions I have to be answered, all in good time. Thanks for all the help all of you so patiently and generously provide. This site and its members are both GREAAAAT. Keep up the excellent work.

You mean like "close one of your own LQ threads?"

You cannot. You can mark it [solved] if you like, by using the "Thread Tools" menu near the top of the page.

If you no longer wish to be notified about new posts to a thread you have posted (and are subscribed) to, simply navigate to the thread, find "Thread Tools" (near the top) and choose "Unsubscribe". The thread will still be open but you won't know about it.

If a thread badly needs attention use the "report" button to notify a moderator. They may close it.

Otherwise, the simple answer is "No, you can't close your own threads" but I hope my answers will help you achieve what you want to achieve via a different route.
