How to change the "Notification type" of ALL subscribed threads in one/two clicks ?

I mean if I do not want to receive the email notification of any subscribed thread now, what should I do ?

Kindly guide !

Hello Anisha,

Is this what you're looking for?

Go to My LQ -> Select all your subscribed threads -> at the bottom under Update Subscription type (in the pull down menu) select no email notification.

If you want to set no email notification as default for the future you can do that under Edit Profile -> Edit Options -> Messaging and Notification.

Hope that helps.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

@anishakaul: I don't think that is possible in one go. The Edit Options link has the Number of Posts to Show Per Page option, which can be set to a max of 50 (would be nice if that number increases, just my 2c). In my case I end up with 51 pages of subscribed threads.

All subscribed threads on one page can be selected and changed, which you probably already found out.

Hope this helps.

One more question:

What does "Daily email notification" mean and what is the exact difference between instant and daily ?
If I select daily, when will I get the notification ?

Hi,

Just assuming, but I think that Daily just means you get one email listing all post (or links) made in threads to which you subscribed. Instantly means what it says, when someone posts in a thread you subscribed to, you'll receive a notification email within minutes.

Again, haven't tried the daily option so not sure if I'm correct.

Kind regards,

Eric

Druuna,

Actually I have sorted my subscribed threads to 12 different folders. I have to change the settings for 1331 subscribed threads in total. Is there some easy way out ?

Hi,

Doesn't EricTRA's solution select only the subscribed threads on that specific page? Or is that what you (anishakaul) were after?

I've checked (and re-checked) but I don't see an option to select all, as in not limited to the page, subscribed threads.

Maybe I misunderstood the question.....

I guess so too, does daily mean at the end of the day perhaps ?

Yes and that's the problem, I have many pages in many folders, it will be somewhat tiresome

Hi Anisha,

I think it would be logical to send a daily notification at the end of the day, since at the beginning it will not contain a lot of info I don't know however when jeremy's day ends (or for that matter LQ's day).

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

If I remember correctly the Daily option was sending me notifications early in the morning (my TZ being CEST).

From a technical point of view I would assume that the load is spread over the day, maybe based on the TZ a person is in? Maybe a mod or Jeremy could give an inside in this.

Hi Anisha,

Just tested by creating a folder, moving one thread to it and then playing with the options.

When in My LQ there's an option in the first box titled Subscribed threads in folder. In that box there's a link View all Subscribed Threads.

If I click on that one, then automagically it shows all my subscriptions in all folders.

That only leaves the issue of dividing the subscriptions in pages I think. In the options section it only lists a maximum of 50 that can be shown. Haven't found another option to change that yet.

Kind regards,

Eric
