How do you access a poll on your thread?

I started a poll on 1-31

It is currently saying "Results will be annouced soon"

I would like to see the results so far. Where do I access that? here's the thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=409945
I want to see the results so far. How do I do this?

Looks like it might be a bug- a thought that maybe you had ticked some wierd setting, but another poll in the general forum that I had been able to see the results of is acting in the same way.

I think this is because of the member's choice awards. The system must have done a forum-wide implementation of the "no see till it's done" rules.

OK.

What if it was not because of that? How would I be able to see the results? Is there a button that I click? A link? What is supposed to be there? 'Cuz in my case it only states 'will be posted shortly'. I know that before you vote, there is a link, but after you vote, there was nothing.

I'm asking because I made the poll long before the Choice Awards poll, and STILL couldn't get the results.

titanium_geek 02-17-2006 04:34 AM

yep, this other poll was around before that. Wouldn't matter if the system decided to make all polls non-visible.

Did you remember setting any dates? Have you been able to see the results before?

I've never been able to see them. The only thing the poll says is the "later" message
I did not set an end date, either

titanium_geek 02-17-2006 04:57 AM

We'll just have to wait until jeremy has a look- I can't really help you much more as I'm only a regular user.

A similar question:
I created this thread (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=416108) after the "member's choice awards", but I didn't chose any "end date" for the poll (the poll will be open forever, right?). And I can't see any of the results. ("Thank you for Voting on this poll. The results will be announced shortly!").
So is this forum-wide?

Thanks.

cwwilson721 02-17-2006 11:53 AM

Looks like it. Same exact thing with mine.....

jeremy 02-17-2006 01:45 PM

What does http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ts&pollid=1055 show you?

I'm getting the same trouble on that poll:
Quote:

Thank you for Voting on this poll. The results will be announced shortly!
And on the URL you gave jeremy, I'm getting this:
Quote:

scuzzman, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

It says this:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

My personal theory is that somehow, setting the MCA's (member's choice awards) as not viewable, it has set all polls as not viewable. I'm guessing that after the results are announced, polls will return to normal.

That's all I get for any poll

jeremy 02-18-2006 03:31 PM

Looks like titanium_geek is correct. I'll update the code so that only the MCA polls are impacted.

You should be able to see poll results for all but the MCA's now.
