I don't often use the Google search function, but I just tried it and got:
Code:
Warning: SoapClient::SoapClient(http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl) [soapclient.soapclient]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found in [path]/googlesearch.php on line 62Warning: SoapClient::SoapClient() [soapclient.soapclient]: I/O warning : failed to load external entity "http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl" in [path]/googlesearch.php on line 62Fatal error: Uncaught SoapFault exception: [WSDL] SOAP-ERROR: Parsing WSDL: Couldn't load from 'http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl' : failed to load external entity "http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl" in /home/httpd/linuxquestions/questions/googlesearch.php:62 Stack trace: #0 /home/httpd/linuxquestions/questions/googlesearch.php(62): SoapClient->SoapClient('http://api.goog...') #1 {main} thrown in /home/httpd/linuxquestions/questions/googlesearch.php on line 62
which looks like the googlesearch.php is no longer what should be used.
Hi Jeremy - I followed your quoted url above and found that as of August 31st the soap search was discontinued and has been replaced ajax search, viz.: http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxsearch/
P.S. I only tracked down this thread because my 1Mb/s wifi ISP connection never gets around to opening threads found by the normal search function - I have to type the thread title into a google search bar in order to see the thread.
Thanks very much for your quick solution - I am very happy to report that the found threads load in about 3 seconds, which is more than acceptable, from my point of view.
I owe you a Guinness next time you are in blighty!
