glitch when posting to a thread

Posting to a thread has always given a new window which shows that one's post is there.

Recently, on several occasions, this has not happened. My post appears only after clicking on refresh.

I'm not able to reproduce this. Does it seem random or is there some consistency in when it happens? Has this been happening to any other members?

Yes, a few times. But I've been getting a lot of slow downloads and connections to other sites lately, so I put it down to a general, temporary, internet problem. Chinese hackers?

Random.

I cannot correlate it to anything else except **maybe** LQ page loading is a bit slower than normal.

Will continue to watch....

It just happened to me. I posted in the "female" thread on LQS&F and when I hit post quick reply the page obviously refreshed because new posts turned up, but not mine. When I hit F5 my post showed up. LQ hasn't shown any slow down to me as far as I am aware.

[edit]and it didn't happen to me when I posted this - most odd.

I have observed the same thing...

(I think) I also had one case where my post appeared after a slight delay (ie ~ 5 seconds)

Thanks to Chris there's now a bug report for this, including what looks like a way to reproduce it. Looking into the issue further now:

Same behaviour as the one reported by XavierP. The page refreshes but my quick post is not there. Randomly.
