My suggestion is related to that but can probably wait until after it has been vanquished.
The suggestion is to allow users to block or ignore threads by either adding them to ignore lists or by simply putting check boxes next to them and click on hide or block. This would let users at least try to review other posts while mods are working on fixing attacks.
Thanks for the feedback. LQ already has an Ignore List function.

Can you point it out to me?
Maybe I was using the wrong one but it seemed to have no effect on what I saw in zero replies when I added one of today's spam users to my ignore list at link: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...?do=ignorelist
Again this can wait until the spam attack today is resolved. Tobi has been waiting for you.

The ignore list only hides posts in a thread, not the threads themselves. But it would be useless against the recent spam wave anyway, because the spammer was making hundreds of new accounts all the time.
