First LinuxQuestions.org kernel patch is released
I am happy to announce that the first LinuxQuestions.org kernel release is ready. I started out very modestly, but things will grow from here. This release includes Rik's rmap14a and Ingo's O(1) scheduler. More patches will be added soon. If there is a patch you would like to see included let me know. This has been running on a test machine for about a day with no problems and this site will be running it starting tonight, but use this at your own risk. As always bug reports and suggestions are welcome.

Looks interesting... But I don't have a machine to try. Maybe it's time to find it :)
|
Wow, that's really cool Jeremy! It caught my eye on the front page while Forums began to load.
Cool |
Excellent, I'll try it. Was your test box a SMP?
|
The test box was not, but the box this site runs on is.

Register the project on freshmeat and try to merge some stuff from alan cox's patches into lq kernel patches;)
|
Actually I registered it on FM about 5 hours ago, but the project has not been approved yet ;) If you have any specific patches in mind feel free to post them and I will take a look.
--jeremy |
Looks like approved now.
Some patches that would be nice to have would be support for other file systems (Like XFS - http://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/, Improved ext3 - http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/ext3/ and the TUX) |
patch requests
Would love to have SWSUSP and ACPI patches incorporated. Have been trying to do it myself and failing miserably.
