Farewell thank you note
 

Not a question; just to say thank you for newsletters and for the availability of the forum. I wasn't able to devote enough time to learning. Had to keep going back to Windows to use familiar software. The day I found my "boot into Linux" floppy had become corrupted I realised that learning Linux wasn't going to happen. Too old, I guess. (64)--or maybe just not enough tenacity.
I'd still recommend other users to have a go--and to come to this helpful site.

I reckon the problem there was Redhat :) Shame you couldn't stick to it as you'd find a whole new area of playing field that just isn't available in Windows.

Never to old! Try some of the LiveCD distros untill you have more time to devote to Linux.

Don't give up on it! It is not an easy transition granted but the opportunities are boundless! I am currently helping a dear friend who is 77 years young to learn to use Linux and it is going ok!

You have only two posts so I am guessing that you haven't asked very many questions, yet you are saying goobye to the best source of advice around >{

The advice above to try a live distro (ie one that will run from a CD with no need to install anything) is excellent in my *very* humble opinion.

You state that your current distribution is Red Hat, if it is not a paid version then possibly it is quite old so please, if you have the time,try one of the newer more "beginner friendly" distros and keep on trying and post any questions you might have up on this great forum.
