edit post / reply acting funny?

Is it just me or is LQ acting funny when you reply or edit post. For example when i reply it attempts to make me download newthread.php ... and then doesn't update so it looks like i haven't replied and then i click again and it says you cannot post without waiting 20 seconds between posts. And i get more or less the same thing editing posts, for some reason it doesn't reload the page, and it looks like i haven't hit the "Save" button. Just noticed this now.

I'm getting weird behaviour also. Slow posting, A couple of blank pages after posting. It looks like some posts are getting duped also. Let's see what happens here.

bobbens 01-03-2006 04:47 AM

if you look at 0 replies threads you'll notice there are alot of double posts, triples posts and i even saw a quadruple post, i think this could be caused by this, and it seems to be a global problem.

EDIT: btw the file it gives you seems to change, now i got newreply.php which i decided to download and it's just a blank file...

vls 01-03-2006 04:51 AM

I'm also seeing posts disappear in a visited thread; reload and the posts reappears.

This thread seems to be fine though. So far. :p

Okay, let's see what happens when I hit submit.

Edit: Yep, got the newreply.php here.

Seems as if it's posting and not redirecting from the quick redirect page. Jeremy has been made aware of the issue.

Things should have been corrected about an hour ago. Thanks for reporting the issue. If anyone notices anything else odd, let me know ASAP.

ok whenever i load a page in the same tab in moz 1.7.12 i loose ALL of whatever i was writing in the message box.

i'v tried to set my tabs to open up new tabs NO MATTER what (which is a 'work around')-- but this is not possible with everything, like when you access moz 'about pluggins', etc.

in those cases you 'have to' 'go back' one page, and that is when your data is all bye byes.

i'll mess with it a little more and advise if i'v come up with a solution--- but really this is very frustrating,ie to try and remember to 'save' your own work in a seperate file-- should this 'disappearing' act show up :(

also, the renedering for menus is just 'un-readable'.. i have to look down at the bottom of the page-- to try and 'guess' what the menu options say.

Can you further clarify what you mean by the menus are 'un-readable' (which menus, how could they be improved, etc)? Thanks.

ok for instance with the 'thread tools'.. if i click the little arrow to bring down the menu, the selections drop down over the first post. this makes it almost impossible to read the selections on the menu.

of course if there is nothing under the menu (rarely) then you can make out the whole menu.

anyway i don't know php so i can't make any decent suggestions.

maybe it has to do with the new php.. maybe it has to do with moz..

i do know that this happens on ALOT of other web sites (even the major ones like news outlets).

i just checked it in firefox-- and it does the same thing.

Can you send me a screenshot? It's very readable for me. When it drops down, the background is opaque, so it completely block out what is behind it.

i have my background set to my preference (light grey) because my eyes cannot handle a white one (which most websites have as a default).

when i changed it back to the websites choice the problems cleared up.

i will try and get that png to you asap, thanx man.
