Dunno is if is a question or suggestion. Search query

Hey I was just wondering if there is a way of searching for threads that I have started but that the last person to post. This is just that I really like to reply to all the people who help me. I also hate it when I reply trying to help someone and they donīt say anything.

I donīt really write that many threads so at the moment I just look manually... just wondering.

Thanks

Yeah, click on the User CP at the top of your screen. There will be a 'subscribed threads' area in the middle of the screen.

Hey thanks ryeman, but do you mean so that I recived emails when there are new messages in these threads?? Thats what I currently have and it generally works, but for what ever reason, like I open a thread and read it delete the email and donīt have time to reply to the thread.

It would be cool to be able to make this search.

You can always click the search button under each of your posts:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...archid=1895454

It doesn't show the last person to reply to yours, I think that would be something that can't be done right now but it does show the amount of replies, etc or if the post has new replies since last visit, etc.

There will be a drop down box for "how subscribed threads from" sorted by days... this should be what you are looking for.

Jimdaworm, since you don't have a big honking sig, you could do what I do: I type my sig in manually, rather than having an automatic one. That way, I just do a search for my nick and get a listing of all the most recent posts to threads in which I have participated.

Enjoy!

Hey Cerbere... I donīt quite follow, currently what I do is just seach for my nickname... that brings up all the posts I have paticipated in. Maby I am slow or somthing but I donīt understand what you mean about the signature thingee.

Thanks!

Cerbere 04-22-2004 09:47 PM

Hmm, when I first joined LQ, searching for my nick wouldn't yield any results unless I had mentioned my nick in the body of the post. So I started typing my sig within the body of the post (like at the bottom of this one). I guess maybe the search has changed in the last year and a half. Maybe now I can switch to an automatic sig :-)

Enjoy!

Yeah Cerbere I was just trying to find an EVEN easier way of doing it... guess maby I am just lazy. Try seraching for you nick... it works for me anyway.
