Well, there's ClamAV. People use it when they're on a network that includes Windows machines or regularly exchange files with Windows users. Linux can act as a Typhoid Mary for viruses; it can spread them without being directly affected by them.

Personally I use Sophos AV and yes I agree with you (and Linux can act as the opposite, stopping viruses before they reach Windows shares). but never the less, I was asking if LQ uses antivirus software. NOT if people should and/or how it affects Linux (or Windows for that matter).
