Talking Dodgy going ons at LQ ...

Hey Jeremy,I just noticed that my reputation has jumped up by ten points and I cant justify it,however I am as dodgy as the next person so I really don,t mind so just chuck some more in... LOL

On a more laughable note...LQ has nearly half a million members but it would seem that most who join soon depart.
Now,I reckon thats the question you would like to know the answer to... WHY. ???????????????????????

My guess is that, that great old fifties film Forbiden planet may give us a clue... I refer to Morbius of course,he just would not believe that it was his monsters from his id that was the cause. LOL

nb, you called me nasty and refuse to apologise so I will never invest in a site where I can be instantly dismissed for no good reason... so there.

Note:the intention of this post is to make you and members/guests smile... !

I invite you to contact any moderator RSN because voicing your discontent (and this isn't the first time) here isn't the best way to solve issues.

No thanks...I tried that last time and all I got from you and Jeremy was how its all about you and not about the members. !

Thanks catkin...an acronym used for the first time should have its explanation.

OK. Then let's listen to what your issues are. For that I'll contact you by email.

I think he was joking around, not 'voicing his discontent'. Or am I missing something?

I believe you are missing his "intent"

It would appear he is trying to 'air' his dirty laundry between LQ mods and him in public view and call it a joke.

Unspawn's "contact me by email response" was the correct one.

Whatever the OP is "trying to" do, he's doing it wrong. What he's actually doing (at least publically) is complaining that something is bothering him while refusing to specify what it is. I cannot think of anything that would be less constructive.

BTW, when Unspawn said "this isn't the first time", he's referring to this post:

If I may add my very humble two cents...airing one's dirties in public seems a) a feeble call for attention and b) a sign of a weaker position is that the action is geared towards attracting like-minded individuals to one's cause.

I commend unSpawn's mature action in "pulling OP aside" and away from the forum. I for one hope that this gets settled in a mature manner. After all, OP seems to miss the point of this forum: where Linux users come for help - pulled from the very front page. Personally, I fail to see any helpfull qualities in this thread.

I hope serenity to return and urge OP to either subscribe to the creed of the forum or to quietly stand at the side line, maybe there's something usefull to be picked up by him...

Hoping not to have spoken out of line and by no means in the intention to add to a conflict but rarther inclined towards defusing it.

Thor

"Fifty percent of what people say when they are joking is true... So, by making some sort of joke about it, you get to say what you really want without being vulnerable."

This may be true, but if someone slaps you in the face and calls it a joke - does it still hurt?

As this thread has gotten quite off topic, I'm going to close it. If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me.
