I logged into LinuxQuestion.org and began to peruse the forums as usual. I got sidetracked and came back about an hour later only to find that I was logged out. Is this normal behavior or perhaps a browser issue (Fire Fox 3 on that other OS on this machine).
I noticed it is checked by default on the main page when I log in. But if I don't log in on the main page, then it's not checked (like if I'm going from my browsing history to "LQ UserCP" and haven't logged in yet).
It's normal. When you log in, make sure you check the box that says "Remember Me" and then it won't log you out.
True. You also need your browser to "Accept Cookies" and "Keep Cookies til They Expire". However, LQ will still 'timeout' after 15 minutes of inactivity- IOW, your name will still disappear from the "Currently Active Users" list, you just won't need to log back in when you return.
