Data to include while asking a network question

I wish to create a thread at the Networking section about an issue I had after upgrading my distro. The network does not work after the setup attempt which takes place when the system goes up. The current question is "What files and logs should I include to make it easier for the people who are kind enough to help me out?" By now, I an think of:
  • the inet1.conf file
  • the inet1 file
  • the answers I give to the netconfig utility when I try it
  • the /var/log/messages after the system boots
  • the /etc/resolv.conf
  • the card model
  • the kernel module which is loaded
What other files and logs should I include?

PS: of course, I will also include a better description of the issue.

Edit: thanks for the reply. This thread can be closed, I have posted the exact question with as much data as I could gather.

- Which linux distribution you're using
- the output of uname -a is useful to clarify which kernel you're using.
- dhcp or static address ?
- wireless or wired ?
- for the card model and kernel module it uses, lspci -v is useful to get this info.
