Could be interesting while EDIT to have CODE icon too

Hi Jeremy,

Just an idea. While editing a post, EDIT (non advanced) offers only QUOTE icon ( [ QUOTE][ /QUOTE] ) , maybe it could be useful to have CODE too.

Dont know.

Have a nice day,
Cheers

I agree with that. The [code] tags are likely the most often used tags on LQ, and making them easier to use from the basic editor is a good idea.

Since we're here on this topic, I wonder how many folks actually use the PHP tagger? I rarely see PHP-tagged code, and IIRC it produces weird, colorful, hard-to-read output anyway.

PHP Code:

A test..

test test
print {"hello"}
$
$crap
test

Ugh..

NOTE: Just for clarity: I am referring to the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of a page, which appears to be the same as the inline-edit. It'd be nice to have the [code] tagger in these.

The EDIT function(s) :

There are two ways to get to the "Advanced Edit" :

1) Hit EDIT another time, and you will get there.

2) Use the "Go Advanced" button.
.....

Why not make the "Advanced Edit" the default?

The "quick edit" is meant for quick in place edits and is intentionality very minimal. We don't plan to add any additional buttons to it at this time. Thanks for the feedback.
