Correct username and password not accepted.
Hello all,
Unfortunately upgraded to Ubuntu karmic and using Firefox 3.5.5 for Ubuntu.
Since yesterday I have seen this issue. I log in to LQ and browse. Then when I am onto some work, I leave the session as it is and go off.
I come back and click My LQ link and it takes me to the login page as the session has expired.
I enter my credentials and I am given wrong user or password error though both are correct.
I close the browser windows and open a new one and again try to login. And viola...It works and I am again onto LQ browsing.
Actually I just had the same problem, and even sent a message to Jeremy (but he can ignore it now). I KNEW I was typing my username/password correctly, but still couldn't login. So, I went to get my password reset, and got a new one, copied it EXACTLY, with my username and still couldn't login. I just tried again right now, and well, I wouldn't be posting if I still couldn't login.

I usually un-check the remember me check box which is defaulted to checked. I am usually at the work place while I am here. So to avoid any misuse I un-check it.

Good security! That said, the login does timeout if you are idle for a length of time. It may be that the expiring cookie, coupled with the issue that Jeremy reported, is what gave you the issue. If it happens again, let us know.
