colored vlinks?

my last suggestion about edit times didn't go over too well (for good reason, it turns out ) but here's another one that i'm coming across: the usefulness of different colored thread links when you've visited that thread.

i think it would be particularly useful in searches. for example: i read something in a thread i had come across in a search, and later i wanted to reference it again, but i couldn't remember the author, thread title, etc. i could approximate the search terms and was able to get a lot of similar looking thread titles, but they were all marked "unvisited." if they were the traditional purple (or whatever) instead of blue, i could have pinpointed the thread much more easily, or at least narrowed it down to 3 or 4 threads instead of pages worth. a lot of those threads have very similar titles!

i think that would also be useful when just browsing the forum, refreshing the first few pages, etc. you could see in one glance the threads you'd already looked at. after all, this is normal default web behavior, and i think it's that way for a reason: to provide visual cues and information to make accessing information easier.

i've looked through all the user options and didn't see anything to set that on a user basis, and i'm browsing the board with cookies. but apologies if i am just missing it somewhere, if so pls. LMK.

once again, thx for the consideration

It may be possible with a users database on server - side. But this would be a quite nice task. You problay can give
those links (anchor tags) a different style (CSS). But one would need to give these styles only in the delivered pages to
the distinct user, who has visited this side. So you need a database on server side, which is tracking for each distinct user the threads he/she has seen.

For each distinct user, the website will be dynamically created.

Is this an idea or what?

I'm sorry, this may not be done in an instance, i guess.

Good idea, synaptical. That sure would help a lot, in searches especially.
