Code in the messages

Hello, it seems I can ask about LQ in this forum.

I am interesting in the following feature. AFAIR there is a capability to paste a text into the message. I find two buttons for it: "Code" and "Quote". For my specific purpose, as it seems, the "Code" more fit. The purpose is for in my message appear a subwindow (like these buttons do) but with a smaller size then text reuires, i. e. subwindow of a small size with scrollbars (especially with a vertical scrollbar).

The reason I want to post a long code, but I think it will be ugly in its original bandwidth. I would like to paste it in a manly sized frame with scrollbars. Is it possible?

(Hope I expressed it clear, sorry for English)

P.S.
Just noticed a lable "Post a poll:" where can I find information on it?

Thank you,

Igor

Wow, I just found information on polls in FAQ, but the former question is still opened for me.

The code functionality should do exactly what you are looking for as far as I can tell.

If you are about "Code" button then I have expressed obscure.

Using "Code" allows me to bound the text into the frame, but it remains logn-long (if I paste a long text). I want it appear in a short frame with a vertical scroll bar within. I want to avoid a long-long message.

The code functionality should indeed give you a scrollbar, like this:

Code:
Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__Really_long_line__

Yes, it gives a scroll bar, but a horizontal scroll bar.
The most annoying messages are not that, which does not fit by the width, but that, which one should scroll and scroll down in order to simply pass thru (without reading).
Thank you for the attention.

The next version of the forum will have both horizontal and vertical scrolls.
