Then I've misunderstood Tinkster's point,so please disregard my comment about "contradictory statment".

to be brutally honest,

i made this thread out of frustration of seeing 20 new post a day on the exact same problem (for example "x-server broken" posted 20 times a day) so i thought in a moment of (imho) stupidity why not just sticky a thread full of simple hotos/tutorials and let the hopelessly new post there questions there then have the rest of the newbie forum be for intermediate level questions and or questions that dont fit elsewhere

then i realized hey that might be pointless being the points made:

1. the whole forum is for simple questions harder stuff gets filtered into other forums

2. no one would bother to read it

3. it would be wasted space via the way things are setup

so point in case this topics not a suggestion at all

its a f#ck up!!!

Well said that man! However, just think of how frustrated you are about this and then realise I've been here 5 years longer than you. I'm just a bubbling cauldron of rage here :(

But seriously folks, LQ's aim has always to be all-inclusive - and that means welcoming people who don't read stickies or search for answers. Those people should be gently educated as one day they will also be in the position you're in now.

Hi,

Boiling point?

No water left in the pot! Pan is searing therefore malformed to a new gen metal flat pan.

Watch out you don't boil dry. The column of steam can be seen here in the North-West.

I need to go up that way in August - school reunion and all that.... But not quite as far as Lancs
