Can I install .exe files in linux 9??

Ok, I installed linux about 10 minutes ago and already im getting frustrated! I downloaded some programs such as AIM and Xbox Connect which are .exe files. Everytime I try to install the .exe it gives me an error message saying "Nautilus has no installed viewer capable of displaying "/home/theryanhallock/xbc31inst.exe"." Everything would be perfect if only I could install these programs. Please Please Please let me know if this is possible and what is going wrong. Thanks
