Burstnet Microsoft Add Does Not Load Page

It seems that this forum is at it again. Whenever I got to a link on this site, any page that has the current Microsoft add thingy that says stuff like JTECH and HLKB causes the page to not load.

this was reported a few days ago in this forum, jeremy is getting the ad removed asap

macewan 06-14-2003 09:14 PM

Are you saying this is a conspiracy to get us to become members? This isn't the first time something like this has happened.

MasterC 06-15-2003 03:05 AM

A conspiracy by whom? MS? I'd think that if it were a conspiracy of any sort that it would only happen on the "contributing member" ad ;) If anything it's a "conspiracy" from billy. The page stops loading after that ad appears, well then what have you got but that ad to click on? :)

Cool

I can assure you that it is no conspiracy. I am actively working on getting this fixed. Thanks for the patience.

I hope nobody thought I was serious about that. Just trying to have a bit of fun thats all.

Man...

I thought I was nuts or something. Thank god someone else posted. Seems to only happen in galeon/mozilla. Either that or I haven't got the banner add in konqueror. Weird

he he he

Robert0380 06-15-2003 04:55 PM

aaaaahh it got me just now!!!

i just held down Shift then hit reload.

lol

Robert0380 06-15-2003 08:00 PM

ok now it's the ONLY ad i see now, on EVERY page, it doesnt even reload, it's just continuous. It doesnt affect all of the pages loading, just sometimes like when i hit the BACK button but it's an annoying ad (the animation). Maybe i should become a contributing member :)

frieza 06-15-2003 08:11 PM

i don't know if it's me or if it's been fixed, but i just put the following entry into my /etc/hosts file
0.0.0.1 www.burstnet.com
and i havn't seen the ad again (after restarting my network)

Robert0380 06-15-2003 09:22 PM

ok that ad is really pissing me off, it's keeping me out of one of the threads i was trying to get into.
