Automatically close old threads

I searched Suggestions and Feedback for this and found zero threads on this subject.

Given that there is a bias against resurrecting old threads it seems to me that this goal could be achieved if threads were automatically closed/locked based on their age and the age of the most recent reply to that thread.

I'm just tired of seeing moderators saying "Don't resurrect dead discussions" when it would be so easy to prevent it.

I agree that after several years, maybe they should be closed. I don't think this would do any harm, would it ?

Closed is great if it does not eliminate it from 'Search'

Thanks for the feedback. As we always suggest a member search before they post, we have no plans to close older threads at this time.

Closed threads are included in a search.
