Add Gentoo

I'm currently in the middle of a Gentoo install and had a question concerning Gentoo and installing X (fluxbox). Much to my shagrin(sp?), there is no Gentoo sub-forum in the Distro Forum.

My suggestion is to add Gentoo to the List.

Thanks

hah hah i just said the same thing and the moderator told me no because the only way the would put a gentoo forum in here is if gentoo.org asked them too :( i know it sux huh

why would they have to ask? is it against the law to have a forum discussing Gentoo without their consent? Did RedHat, Slack, Solaris....etc have to give their permission? I'd really hate to have to sign up at another board to ask Gentoo questions. I'm lazy and I hate checking my email for that registration confirmation stuff.

If you use gentoo it is almost a must to check out the forum there.A lot and I mean A LOT of questions being asked here that have been answered on the gentoo forums.
Plus it keeps you up to date on the latest bugs and what better not to upgrade or install.

Its been mentioned before and dozens of other times, we are particular in adding forums, mainly distribution forums that is.

how on earth does this suck??? people here use gentoo. *I* use gentoo, and i'll happily try to answer any gentoo specific questions... its not like it's illegal to ask questions about gentoo just because there is no specific forum for it! it's not a negative thing, at worst it's just plain neutral. just a case of wanting to do things properly.

i was just over at gentoo.org checking out their forums (they use the same software i do :) ). i also read the past posts on this issue and it cleared it up. makes sense to want the forum to be official and i think the forums at gentoo.org the forums are gentoo contain everything you need to know. i especially like their FAQ forum.

anyway, this post is just to say that i understand why there is no Gentoo forum here. i dont really even have to sign up at gentoo to get my questions answered as they were already asked (i guess the same would apply here too, but it seems people rarely use the search).
