[Search function]short keyword limitations

The (advanced) search function does not allow to search for short keywords. I assume that the function is to eliminate searches for words like 'the', 'an' etc.

However, most standard NIX commands are short (cp, du, ...) and I often find myself in a position trying to find a thread that I've replied by using NIX commands as the keyword.

I like to suggest that a keyword search would allow the search for NIX commands.

Unfortunately the FULLTEXT engine does not index individual words under 3 characters. You can, however, use quotes and/or wildcards to get around the limitations in some cases, depending on what you'd like to search for.

Thanks Jeremy.

The only way I can find them currently is because I know more or less when I posted (long ago, recently or somewhere in between ) and I can judge from the thread title if it might be relevant.

If I find them back a next time, I will tag them; that might make life easier.
