Linux SysAdmin - Financial Industry - Cambridge, MA

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Position: System Administrator and Tech Support for Redhat Enterprise, Redhat Cluster Suite.

Company: RiverSource Investments, Cambridge MA, Quant Fund Management Group.

Position: Position is available immediately. Competitive salary, excellent benefits. Please contact Steve Kokkotos steve.e.kokkotos@ampf.com

Our group has 7 Redhat Enterprise linux servers (DELL hardware), 6 on-site and 1 remote. 2 of these servers are running Redhat Cluster Suite and serve as file servers connected to an EMC2 Clariion RAID system. The other 5 servers are production and research servers. All servers are also running samba to export and import filesystems to and from a Windows XP network.

We are looking for a competent Linux Administrator that will take over the management of these servers (updates/upgrades, user accounts, packages/applications, samba, etc) as well as assist in technical support of the office (25-30 users). User desktops are Windows XP. We already have a Windows XP support tech.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, research and solve problems and offer solutions for better utilization/performance of the servers. Experience in Linux scripting is required. A working knowledge of Perl, Python and/or C++ will be considered a plus. Experience with EMC RAID platforms will also be a plus.
