XWindows Consultant – Temporary/Short-Term


Job Description
XWindows programming consultant needed to complete short term Solaris porting project. Time estimate for project is 2 weeks. Project could be mostly completed offsite with final build onsite at Greenwich CT offices.

>>The first part of the project is porting the ezX GUI builder from Solaris 2.6 on SPARC to Solaris 10 x86. QFS purchased the source code for this product in the 90s and has used it ever since to build the main application GUIs. There has been difficulties porting to Solaris due to unknown XWindows/Motif issues, primarily with Pixmaps. (1st part could be completed off site.) The second part involves porting of QFS applications that bind in ezX and X11 and Motif libraries to Solaris 10 x86. (2nd part could be completed offsite but with final build with QFS proprietary code would be onsite, or QFS could produce stub callback libraries for a candidate that could only perform work offsite.)

Desired Degree / Experience / Skills
XWindows internals including Xlib, Xtoolkit; Motif 1.2/2.0, make/imake. Ideally experienced with ezX from Sunrise Software.
