Expert Linux admin wanted for a short (weekender) project.
This is a colo-to-linode migration project. The colo box is under WHM and cPanel. Linode is going to be a naked apache box.
1. Configure new linode with apache, php, mysql, phpmyadmin, (possibly) a control panel such as webmin and/or usermin, Subversion server, an ftp server, an ssh service, other secondary software (more on that below in #2).
2. Migrate from a co-located box about a dozen fairly uniform websites. Test to make sure all websites run adequately on the new server, should there be incompatibilities, additional software required, make a recommendation whether to correct the website or update (up- or down- grade) linode server software. And, of course, subsequently implement software adjustment or installation.
My expectation is to find someone with at least ten years of diverse *nix experience, sharp, responsible, meticulous and self-motivated.
Must be US-based, sorry I can't do overseas for this one.
Propose your rate and indicate a ballpark time estimate of how long it might take you to do this job. Not expecting precision, but some idea (hours? days? weeks?) would be much appreciated. If you prefer a lump sum arrangement that would work for me as well. As you see I'm pretty flexible :^)
My name is Philip Wernersbach, and I am an experienced Unix Environment Specialist, and I know everything about Linux, from the kernel up. I even have my own real time Linux distribution named Pack4Linux. I have extensive real world experience with setting up Linux boxes, including servers. I can do this project in a weekend. Please email me at philip <dot> wernersbach <at> gmail <dot> com so that I can send you my resume and discuss this project further.
