Post GROUP quotas doesnt' really work, only USER QUOTA - SUCCESS!!

Hi all,
it is incredible but i am having terrible problems with group quotas, no way to make it works!

THESE ARE MY STEPS:

1)enter fstab and add userquota, grpquota to the filesystem i
want
2)restart the system
3)launch the command quotacheck -avug
4)launch the command quotaon -aug
5)launch the command edquota -u john -f /dev/hda1
6)modify quotas
7)launch the command repquota -u to see if the quota is active
for john and all is ok!
8) Ilogin as john and launch the command quota to see if the
system tells me my quota status and all is ok!!
9) now i relaunch the command edquota, but this time for a group
edquota -g testgroup -f /dev/hda1
10)I modify quota value for testgroup and exit
11)Now I launch repquota -g to see if all is ok and the system
correctly sees quota active for the group testgroup
12)now i insert the user nancy in the testgroup
13)i log as nancy and i try to create a little file
14)now as nancy i launch the command quota to see her
groups quota status "quota -g"
15)the system tells me that group of nancy (testgroup) has no
quota enabled!!!!! BUT IT IS NOT TRUE BECAUSE LAUNCHING THE
COMMAND REPQUOTA -G AS ROOT IT TELLS ME THAT THERE IS A QUOTA
VALUE FOR THIS TESTGROUP!!

why is it happening???? please i don't know anymore what to do!!

repquota tells me that there is a value, but if i login as a simple user like nancy it tells me that testgroup has no quota enabled!!
I have also verified if grpquotas is really enable with the quotaon command and it tells me that both userquota and groupquota are enabled for that filesystem

I'm really going crazy with this!!

Ok all is solved now.

I have finally discovered why group quotas is not working.

I have seen that group quotas is not calculated considering all files created by ALL members of that particular group for which i have set quota, but only considering files created always by members of that group, but only ones who has that group set as their primary group.

For example:
i have a group GROUPTEST1
then i have 3 users, test1 with primary group test1, test2 with primary group test2, and test3 with primary group grouptest1.

Making all 3 users part of that group and setting group quotas for that group GROUPTEST1, the quota value will change only when test3 will create files, not when test1 and test2 will do it.

This is very bad because doing this you must change primary users group

And if you really don't want to change their primary group, the last way is to set GID bit on the file system, but doing this you can have only one group with quota enable, and the the reason is clear.

It makes me 1 week to understand this
