Although trained 25 years as a Molecular Geneticist, I find myself running an Information technology center with several servers.
I relearned most of my Linux and Unix, but things are different now. My learning curve will be steep. Let me apologize for my really dumb questions in advance. At some point, things will click and I will be able to both ask good questions, and hopefully teach myself without asking for a helping hand. In the meantime, I have a lot of questions, some probably very simple.
For example, what's the best way to (no, what's the EASIEST way) to generate a website redirect on a LAMP server? Running CentOSv5 (GNU) on a Dell Poweredge 6650. We just needed to move a personal website from the business section of the server, to the personal section, and redirect calls for the old link, to the new link.
For example when my family clicks on "www.business.familylinks.com", they'll be redirected to "www.personal.familylinks.com". Can it be done with a simple link/alias?
Yes, I know this is the WELCOME forum, not a trouble-shooting forum. Yes I've searched also. Yes,I need some basics. I keep running up against little things that cost me a lot of time.
Pete
