Wireless connections

After getting Ubuntu 8.04 installed, and trying to connect with my wireless card to the home network, the hardware would still not connect. A friend said to go to ... and download the fix ... Aargh, hard to do when you have no connection. Long story short, tried Kubuntu and HELLO it worked just fine. I am not sure how to get the necessary files downloaded and put where Ubuntu can get to them, but that will be my weekend task.

You can download the file and save it to a usb flash drive, and then boot Ubuntu and apply the fix. You are able to connect to the internet with Kubuntu?
