Congratulation!

I like OpenOffice too :-)

I use Gaim, but I prefer Kopete.

You can install new program from YaST2 GUI (Install and Remove Software Module), or using rpm (rpm -ivh packagename), or using yast (yast -i packagename), or using apt for SuSE (apt-get install packagename), or using Synaptic (GUI), or few other ways (using konqueror plugins, ./configure make su make install) etc.

Yes, I like the smooth graphics too :-) 3D games in 24bit colors at high-res.

Mozilla is also available. I like it for browsing only.

Here are some sites for downloading stuffs:

Have fun :-)

I'm also a recent convert. I first tried Redhat 9. It was ok, but I didn't really like Gnome, and plus Redhat is more focused on business. So I tired Suse 8.2, and I love it! It has everything I need, mainly OpenOffice and Konqueror (though it should be updated to include all the stuff Apple has added to it). I'm still a little intimidated by the command line and editing files and such, but I'm learning. :) It's just so nice to be able to install it without having to do too much, and all for such a cheap price.

I know this isent a proper question in this post, but how do you know of a place to get Suse 8.2 iso files?
thanks

Kjetil4455,

www.suse.com take a link to install from thier ftp site. They don't make iso's available they would rather have you buy it to support development.
