I'd been struggling on and off with my install of Mandrake 9.2 for months. Everytime I considered giving it a go as a more full time OS, I'd get stonewalled by the same problem - I couldn't get an internet connection working. I could dial, and connect but the routes were always wrong.

I posted a message here on LinuxQuestions recently, detailing the problems, and within a couple of days someone had posted the reply that I needed to take the gateway entry out of my LAN configuration - after I'd finished hitting myself on the head for missing something so obvious, I implemented that suggestion, and am now finally free to explore all the *other* aspects of my Linux OS. :-)

This is definitely going to be a site I reccomend to friends with Linux probs :-)
