Selecting a Distro

What do most of us want in a OS? For me ,I have a wife and four kids at home WIFE needs a laptop wireless 2 BOYS need for games, school ect Me I like to fuck with machines load this distro or that so heres what I did my wife on a dell latitude c640 linspire works great easy to use some great programs ie lphoto and lsongs easy to maintain software ideal for her ,

2 sons had to be linspire 4.5 they are 11 and 9 this was great for them but aidan the 9 year old preferred mandrake 10.0 I even taught them to install it themselves since 99 I have a standard set of rules for building my pc's Asus boards nvidea video cards soundblaster soundcards , pinnacle tv tuner cards

My pc has removable drive so I try everything but my everyday os is now suse 9.1 I have figured how to fuck with it so it runs awesome and this and other forums help me solve my problems.

my favorite apps are as follows

tvtime for tv
kaffeine for audio
amoroke for audio
mplayer for video and dvd playback
gnutella for p2p
gaim for im 'ing
star office is worth the money

WE HAVE BEEN MS FREE for past 2 yrs
