my Linux is finally userfriendly

I use debian linux wich to me was a complete mystery to install.
Most of the configurations was made by friends and with help from
forums and the www in general.

Im a computeridiot, i dont know much and im slow at learning,
however with the right configurations linux can be so simple to use
i love "apt-get install ..." i cant get easier than that, no searching for
applications on the net, no questions, just plain and simple functionality.

I tried mandrake for a while but i didnt like rpms and the trouble
updating everything. okay, its so easy installing even i could do
it myself, but if you have the luxury of having a linuxgeek friend, debian
is better in my newbieopinion.
Im now about to erase windows from my second hd (and turn it into a backupdisk)

bottom line is; for me debian is the bomb, its now so easy to use even my sister
can manage it. + it runs like a charm on my PII :)

Thank you everyone who make linux what it is, i would like to hug you :) :)

:D glad you're enjoying yourself, Debian is easily one of the best distros out there and because of the simplicity of apt-get it's fun to use :D

I think that feeling of wanting to hug all the linux guys out there comes after a while for everyone lol, after I got my system nicely setup and everything running smoothly I was overjoyed and wanted to send e-mails to each and every person that had made the software I was using.

Remembering now and then how many thousand dedicated craftspersons are out there patiently working to make Linux what it is and will be, helps to keep in mind that there ARE still some people in this world working out of love and altruism, rather than from greedy motives.

Thanks to them all!
