Linux - The Energiser Bunny of OSes.

Hello,

Linux has once again proven it's worth to me as an operating system. Today I tried to install the ATI drivers for my newly compiled kernel. Anyway, no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the drivers to work (and I tried several times). Eventually I ended up busting my X server somehow, but being Linux is was still functional with the command line. It turned out I needed to install that OpenGL Mesa stuff, so I tried finding the RPM by FTPing into a few sites. I couldn't find it, so I used my other Windows machine to connect to the internet through my X-less Linux computer. I then got the RPM that way, moved it over, installed it, and now X works fine again. Just try doing all that with Windows  . No matter what I do to Linux it just keeps on going.

I'm still ticked off at ATI though  .

Cheers

I see...
A penguin waddling along pounding a drum walking past a broken window, maybe even a hidden patrol car with SCO written on the side waiting to pull the penguin over for parading without a license.

after being handed the penguins GNU/GPL license the officer now dejected, has to let the penguin go..........

........but just then the officer turns around and screams where is that pipe? I know you had a pipe at one time............................
