Install WinRAR on Fedora

Step 01 :

rpm -ivh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfr...ble.noarch.rpm

Step 02 :

yum install unrar

unrar
is NOT the Microsoft windows only "WinRAR "

it ONLY will open a rar
you need to install the rar program to archive to a rar file

unrar will NOT make a rar
and that is a NON free and NON open source program

The best archiver for Win is 7-Zip, which is free and open source. There is a port of the command line version for linux. Home page is here. Another source here.

For the record, RPMfusion does have rar as well, but since it's not a particularly good archiver, most people just get unrar to deal with things produced by Windows users.
