Lightbulb Found!

I found a copy of Mandrake (actually several) at my local dollar store called "Deals."

It was kind of neat to see the gnome, kde, and mandrake logo on a box you could buy at a local store.

(And, of course, I plunked down my $1 US for it.)

Haven't opened it up to see which version it is yet. I mainly purchased it for the books, because I have SUSE 9.1 Pro running (so far, so good) on my work laptop, but am debating over throwing mandrake on the computer at home to introduce the wife and kid (a 5 year old) to linux.

Anyhow, just thought I'd throw this out there.

Hope you get your family to switch over, and soon The'll love it. The only way I saw of convincing my 7 year old cousin into Linux was thus:

I said taht it is the coolest thing and that none of his friends have heards of it so he is the obvious champ and other such things. The next thing you know, he's got knppix 3.4 dual boot with windows.

Cheers.
