Big thanks to Knoppix
 

I would just like to say a big thankyou to the guys responsible for Knoppix.

My hard drive has decided to give up the ghost in the middle of an important task. But, thanks to the Knoppix CD that I purchased as a try-out some months ago, I was able to finish the work. I am working from that distro at the moment and have to say that it is an excellent live CD, worth its weight in gold in a crisis.

Plus, I'm not in such a panic to buy a new hard-drive as I otherwise would have been and can afford the time to choose my make/model etc. instead of accepting whatever is in the local store.
