3 Month anniversary of switching to Kubuntu
Today, November 28, 2006, is the 3 Month anniversary of the installation of Kubuntu.
Awhile back, my dad said "hey, why not set up a dual boot with a linux distro". I pondered on that, and when I returned from one month of camp, I got right on the computer, download the ISO, burned it to a CD, and installed Kubuntu. Installation was a snap, and pretty soon, I was running Linux. At the time of installation, I knew practically nothing about Linux/Unix. But I learned very quickly. It actually took me a week just to get internet access because I had a hard time getting the wireless drivers to work, but I got it working, and now everything is great. Kubuntu has every program I need, and a whole lot of games to keep me entertained. And after installing my graphics driver and tweaking KDE to the way I liked it, I was all set. Since I have installed Kubuntu, I have only booted into Windows 2 times, both to transfer music to my MP3 player. Long story short, I am glad I followed through with that "crazy idea" to set up a dual boot, and It doesn't seem so crazy now. Thanks, LQ, for all the help in answering my questions and for helping me undo mistakes I made. BigFoot |
Congrats BigFoot13 - welcome to the Linux community :)
