Smile up and running, finally

Got my first linux box running - third try and third distro. Previously it was win xp with "NTLDR missing" so I am happy to have something workable on it.

Will need time to figure out linux but got onto the internet with no trouble.

Welcome to LQ

Getting to the internet is a pretty important step for a new Linux user! I remember back when I switched to Linux, it was a good thing for a few days that my roommates WinXP machine was still around-- I needed lots of peeks onto the 'net to get my desktop finally running!

Enjoy the forums, hopefully you find everything you're looking for here!

Ditto GrapefruiTgirl's sentiments.

I hope that you enjoy Linux as much as we (all of us) do.

I have to admit one thing. I haven't found everything that I'm looking for here at LQ. I still can't find a lover who won't drive me crazy.

Thanks for the welcome - I have already bunged up my Linux OS but got it back up going around the horn, a bit. It is pretty resilient but I need to be more careful, it appears.

Hey Grapefruit, on of the on-line services. When the plaintiff (my wife of 35 years) decided her feelings for me had changed my search for a new mate started and successfully ended with Match.com. It can be strange at times but keep an open mind and be cautious - it could work for you, too.

Thank you for the kindly words, and congratulations!! I am happy for you
I haven't been over there in some time but perhaps I'll check in again sometime sooner than later.

Cheers,
Sasha
