I am trying to open mail, that I was able to open in windows with Thunderbird. The mail is located in a folder on my external SCSI hard drive.
I was able to open it when changing the server settings in Thunderbird and setting the mail folder to the one on my SCSI HD.
When I do so in Ubuntu Linux with Thunderbird I do not see any mail in my inbox when I set the same folder. I think this may be a permission issue, but can't seem to change the permissions even after using chmod 777 on it.
Should I be doing something in Windows to the FAT32 partition on my external hd, to allow the change. I didn't think FAT32 partitions had these issues with windows, as I thought that was one of the big security benefits of NTFS.
Anyhow I much prefer Linux for lots of reasons and am liking Ubuntu at the moment, so any help with the above would be appreciated. One of the last few steps before I can basically avoid using Windows almost altogether.
Again I'd appreciate any ideas,
Thanks,
