Unlike some other forums, most everybody is polite here. It's a great site for newbies. And there is nothing to be scared of about Linux.

Amanda (pennylesstoo), I was new to Linux a few years back and now I'm not. I put in the time and effort, and now Linux is for me a super-quick and versatile OS that I use on various machines, and also for rescuing less techno-savvy friends machines. Everything is explained somewhere, often on, and, after some time of puzzlement it all becomes really straightforward. You've probably already noticed how quick and easy Linux and program installations are. If there's not a program in a repository to do what you want to do, you can learn BASH, then if you want to go further, Python's already there in your distro, and very easy to use and learn, and so on, until you realise that the whole flippin internet has becomes less mysterious to you. So, be brave, the rewards are great. Joseph
