Status update: lurker => poster

I "joined" LQ several years back, and just 'scanned' posts since then. I'm a longtime debian/ubuntu && VMware user, and have gone through many generations of "issues" that always seem to crop up whenever a kernel update takes place. I noticed a post from a user re this just now, and thought it would be a good opportunity to jump in.
