hi,thanks for the link.now i'll try it. I've got some other problem. i wanted to have skills on setting up a DNS server using my computer and 3 others. my PC has 2 NIC's and my plan was to setup an intranet. my DNS failed to start and this it the error i read. starting name server BIND startproc: exit status of parent of /usr/sbin/named:1 failed
perharps my working was totally wrong? i don't know. Please i would like any help on the collect procedures on setting up a DNS server. i use SUSE 10.
Although it's an old document, the howto at http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/DNS-HOWTO.html is still relevant if you wan to set up a resolving, caching name server. It's the document I first used when setting up my home network.
