Slackware Growing Up in Enterprise Environment
Hello everyone, first of all, my name is Lucas and I'm working in a business project:
Run Slackware in all of our computers.
We started with our servers, then our own machines (IT Team).
We where Ok with XFCE but our client the "windows-users" felt the change and we had to make something.
I've tried Splash on boot to make it look well (without boot-lines)
I'm using mingetty to autologin in computer account
LibreOffice as default Office Editor and Firefox as browser and Wine as Windows emulator (even that wine is not an emulator hehe)
We have about 200 computers @ Telemarketing area, they are our first shot because the don't use any other programs, just the Browser and X-lite "emulated" by wine.
Our only problem is:
"update and upgrade regularly our slackware, we cant just update/upgrade our computers becouse it can crash something, we are thinking about a script that loads an image from our server in "sda4", and update the / "sda3" ( partition /home is out in "sda2") and boot sda1.
when it reboots the new system will be running as normal.
That's what im working on, if anyone has any idea i appreciate.
